Why Study With Me
I am a classically trained mezzo-soprano and professional vocalist whose career spans classical, rock, pop, and musical theatre. Before earning my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music—where I was recognized on the Dean’s List for most of my studies—I trained in classical voice and music education at Grand Rapids Community College, performing in the Honors Recital and singing with the select Madrigal Singers ensemble. That foundation continues to shape my technical approach as both performer and teacher.
My performance work ranges from prestigious classical stages to international contemporary venues. I have appeared at Carnegie Hall with the West Michigan Opera Project, performed with the Southwest Symphony, and presented numerous concerts and self-produced recitals featuring classical and crossover repertoire. I have also performed in opera choruses, including H.M.S. Pinafore with Opera Grand Rapids and Carmen with the West Michigan Opera Project. I will appear in the upcoming chorus of La Bohème with the West Michigan Opera Project this spring. In parallel, I have an extensive background in rock as frontwoman for bands including Aria Flame and Dendura, with tours and festival appearances across Europe and shared stages with internationally recognized artists such as Epica, Lacuna Coil, Evergrey, Leaves’ Eyes, and Xandria. This dual-genre career allows me to train singers not only in technique but in stylistic authenticity across multiple genres.
My teaching is informed not only by professional experience, but by personal growth. Earlier in my journey, I worked through significant performance anxiety and self-doubt; through disciplined training and stage experience, I developed the tools to transform those challenges into strength. Today, I help students do the same—guiding them toward confident, healthy, and expressive singing tailored to their individual goals.

Featured Student Success Story
“I have studied with Aziza since I was nine years old and was one of her very first students. I loved singing but had never performed in front of others and was extremely nervous when I began lessons. From day one, she made me feel calm, supported, and excited to grow. Over five years of weekly training, she shaped not only my voice but my confidence as a performer.
Aziza prepared me for major auditions including school musicals, NBC’s The Voice, and my Interlochen Arts Academy audition, where I was accepted as a musical theatre major in 2022—I truly would not have been accepted without her guidance. Even while I was away at Interlochen, she continued supporting me through check-ins and coaching, helping me rebuild confidence each year.
Now, as a Music major at Northeastern University, I can say with certainty that I would not be where I am today without Aziza. Her teaching goes far beyond technique—she offers mentorship, encouragement, honesty, and unwavering support. She is not just a vocal coach; she is a lifelong advocate for her students.”

She meets you where you are, whether beginner or advanced, and brings incredible knowledge, experience, and positivity to every lesson.
